Greetings CMS Families,
I hope that you are enjoying the beautiful sunshine. After several weeks of brutally cold temperatures, blizzards and multiple attempts to schedule the State of School, we are finally on for tonight! The State of School is an opportunity for you to hear from the Board of Trustees and various members of the Leadership Team as well as interact with Cambridge Montessori faculty and staff. We will discuss the overall health of CMS, our vision and plans for forging ahead. We will also share information about upcoming opportunities for CMS parents to get involved in campus life.
We are proud of the accomplishments that our entire community has achieved this year. While snow may have prevented some organizations from operating, we, at CMS, like snowplows in Massachusetts, have been moving along steadily, Some highlights of our most recent history include a successful "to-date" three year strategic plan, expansion in lower elementary, additional office space, largest middle school student body, increased socio-economic diversity, new hires and a host of other successes. Students are immersed in learning and bursting with great energy! Faculty and staff are doing what they do best, inspiring and engaging students and simply being awesome!
As we make the transition from winter to spring, we are also preparing for a phenomenal Passport Summer Camp Program. We recently hired one of the best Summer Camp Directors in New England, Beth Johns-Thomas. Beth joined CMS just last week and she is already making her presence known in and beyond Cambridge. Beth is an experienced educator and camp director. She is currently a member of the Massachusetts Camp Association Board of Directors and sits on the Standards Commission for the American Camp Association. Beth has SOME GREAT ideas about our Passport Program. Please join Beth, the Board of Trustees, the entire CMS team and me to hear more exciting news and what is on the horizon at CMS. We look forward to seeing you tonight! Please don't forget to bring sunglasses because our future is BRIGHT!
