- Supporting CMS
Cambridge Montessori has many events including our Fall Kick-Off, Annual Auction and Grandparents' and Special Friends' Day. Each event is special and targets a wide range of our CMS constituents. The events listed below are a few examples of the variety of special events that are held throughout the school year.
Open to the entire adult CMS communtiy, this event gives adults a chance to connect with each other, enjoy dinner, entertainment, and learn about what is exciting and new for the upcoming year. It is considered our "CMS pep rally" before the big game! It is typically held at the end of September or the beginning of October and is the first official community gathering of the year.
The Annual Auction is our only "fundraiser" of the year. The purpose of the auction is to help raise revenue for our financial aid budget. Our Auctions have ranged from informal gatherings at a local pub to an elegant evening in the foyer of a Cambridge Office Buidling. Since the Auction is for a great cause, many families attend to support and celebrate the school's commitment to making education affordable. The Auction is held in late March or early April.
This year's Spring Auction was held on Saturday, March 23, 2013.
Grandparents' and Special Friends' Day
Grandparents' and Special Friends' Day gives extended family members an opportunity to learn more about a "day in the life" of a CMS student. At CMS we value the partenrship that we have with students and their families and recognize that extended family members are also an integral part of a student's educational journey. Our guests gather for a community meeting with the Head of School along with the Leadership Team and then visit classes with their loved one(s). This event is held in May.
This year, Grandparents' and Special Friends' Day will be on Friday, May 24, 2013.
