Emerging Leaders

Be a leader this summer!

If you're between the ages of 11 and 14 (or entering 6th, 7th or 8th grade in the Fall) then this is the program for you!

Our newly redesigned Emerging Leaders program is structured into four, two week sessions that allow you to to explore exactly what it is that interests you.

Session 1

Camp Traditions

Weeks 1 & 2 of camp

This session is designed around everything camp! Take part in a camp wide field trip to the Aquarium, choose between Lasercraze and Funway, participate in all the special activities camp has to offer and volunteer with whatever age group of campers interests you. There will be lots of time for team building,making friends and even planning a camp wide event on Thursdays!

  

Session 2

Invest in Your Future

Weeks 3 & 4 of camp

This session will allow you to explore yourself, your interests and set some realistic goals for your future. You willl have the chance to tour local colleges, visit the NEAA and learn about the cost of living as well as choose between visiting the Children's Museum and the Science Museum with the rest of camp! Local professionals may come and present on their chosen professions and how you can get involved. There will also be lots of time left for all the other fun activities camp has to offer!

Session 3

Outdoor Adventure

Weeks 5 & 6 of camp

This session encourages you to push yourself to step outside of your comfort zone and explore the great outdoors. You will learn about camping, how to 'Leave No Trace' and other wilderness survivial skills, participate in team building on a ropes course and even camp overnight in a tent! You will learn what to take, how to pack and what to do in an emergency! There will also be lots of time for all the other great things camp has to offer!

 

Session 4

Social Justice & Community Service

Weeks 7 & 8 of camp

This session is designed around young people looking to get involved in their local community. You will have the chance to learn about social justice and community organizing and collaborate with local youth organizations. You may design and implement a community action project in and around the Cambridge community that really makes a difference! You will still have a chance to participate in all the other fun things camp has to offer, and attend the final all camp field trip!
