Greetings, CMS Families!

Remember back in November when I wrote about the CMS Fund and why annual funds serve an important role in independent school? I can hardly believe it’s almost the end of the year and time to wrap up the Fund…how time flies! Since that post in November, the school has continued its work to raise funds to support the school in numerous ways. We held a successful 50th Anniversary Gala (which raised over $100K for the school); organized nine “Breakfasts with Ingrid” which welcomed attendance of over 60 families in the school; recruited over 20 faculty, parent and Board volunteers to help with the various projects, solicitations and events the Development Office has organized; and more. Our work doesn’t stop there, however. At the end of this week, we will welcome over 100 grandparents and special friends to campus, for our highly anticipated Grandparents and Special Friends Day! And on Saturday, May 31st we are hosting a 50th Reunion Picnic and Family Fun Day from 2pm-5pm in Danehy Park (across from the Middle School Building). We are looking forward to seeing many new and familiar faces at these various events and hope to see you and your family there!

The Development Office plays an important role in any independent school community, and this year at Cambridge Montessori has been no exception! As you know, the school has embarked on plans to increase our footprint and acquire property to ensure the longevity of our school and its programs. In order to be successful in these endeavors, the Development Office has been hard at work to strengthen community ties, increase parent involvement, and raise much-needed funds and participation among our current community members. As I wrote in November, the funds raised for the CMS Fund and 50th Anniversary are an important part of creating a sustainable future for Cambridge Montessori School. Currently, the Annual Fund boasts 100% participation among the faculty, staff and Board of Trustees. This is the time when we ask parents to participate in supporting the CMS Fund to show the outside community that our parents, faculty, staff and Board back the school 100% and do so to ensure the longevity and success of the school. I want to thank all the families, teachers, staff members and Board members who have participated in the CMS Fund and who continue to support the school in other various ways. Without the support of folks like you, our school would not be the place that it is.

We look forward to ending this school year with a highly successful CMS Fund (the goal being $220K), and setting the stage for a robust future of educating young people with the principles and values that Maria Montessori founded over 100 years ago. Thank you for all your enthusiasm, participation, and dedication to Cambridge Montessori School. Cheers to the next 50 years!
