Good Afternoon CMS Families,
I hope that you enjoyed the extended weekend. Labor Day weekend is symbolic of the tremendous summer season coming to a close, yet it also evokes the excitement of welcoming a new season and all that it promises.
Last week we welcomed back our full faculty and staff, new and returning, for orientation. Teachers worked tirelessly preparing their classrooms while administrators and staff organized our offices in anticipation of your arrival.
We also hired Rahima Ahmad as our school nurse. Rahima comes to us with extensive experience in family practice and recently was the nurse at a summer camp for children with cerebral palsy on Martha's Vineyard. She worked with former CMS Passport Director Liza Gallagher and comes highly recommended to CMS. Her office is located in the Toddler/Primary Building, however she will travel between buildings. Her hours are from 8:30-2:30 PM.
We have made every effort to ensure a smooth transition for CMS families. We will kick off the 2013-2014 school year with over 230 students, the largest Lower Elementary class ever, and an amazing faculty and staff that is rejuvenated and ready to do what they do best, facilitate student learning. We are also celebrating our 50th year anniversary all year long! Cambridge Montessori has been a pillar in the community for five decades. We were part of a great movement in 1963 and will continue in 2013 and beyond!
We mailed a packet of pertinent information to you about the school year at the beginning of August. Please refer to that mailing for details regarding this week and the weeks to come. We have done all that we can to open our arms and hearts to you tomorrow and can barely wait to welcome the children back for another school year! We are looking forward to meeting and connecting with new and returning CMS families.
Now we need your assistance! In order for us to complete and update all necessary lists and our database, we NEED your health forms. To date, we have less than half of the forms. This information is absolutely critical to us. We are committed to providing a safe environment for your children. If you have not already done so, please be sure to bring your child(ren)'s health forms tomorrow. Thank you in advance for your cooperation. We look forward to seeing you!
