Inquiry and Application
To be considered for admission, families must complete these steps:
Attend Open House or Schedule a Visiting Day
Cambridge Montessori School is excited to welcome new friends to visit our school for our annual Admissions Open House on October 26, 2014 from 1-3pm. The afternoon will include tours of the school by student tour guides and an opportunity to meet parents and teachers. Children are welcome to attend, and no RSVP is required for this event. CMS will also hold a Winter Open House on Thursday, January 8, 2015 at 6pm and Spring Open Houses on Wednesday, April 29, 2015 at 6pm and Thursday, May 28, 2015 at 6pm.
Additionally, prospective families are encouraged to attend a scheduled Visiting Day to learn more about our programs and our school. Because of the nature of this visit, parents are kindly asked to attend without children. Visiting Days include time to observe in a classroom, an opportunity to speak with CMS staff about our programs, and an opportunity to take a tour of our school and have all your questions answered. Participation is limited to due to space. To make an appointment for a Visiting Day, please call the Admissions Office, at 617-492-3410. Visiting Days begin in mid-October.
Complete Application for Admission by January 15
Completed applications, including records for current and former schools, AISNE teacher evaluation(s), and the non-refundable $55 application fee must be received by January 15. Applications will be accepted after March 10 on a rolling basis. If you have any questions, please contact the Admissions Office.
Submit Supporting Documentation by January 15
Submit records release form along with AISNE teacher evaluation to your child’s current school. Once completed, be sure to see that the current school sends school records along with the teacher evaluation(s) directly to the Admissions Office at Cambridge Montessori by January 15. This step is not required for children who have not yet attended a school or similar program.
Once an application is received, the Admissions Office will contact your family to set up an interview. Elementary and Middle School candidates spend part of a day in a classroom as part of their interview. While applicants visit the classroom, parents are interviewed by an Admissions representative. Younger candidates attend either small group or individual interviews with their parents.
For Families Applying for Financial Aid
Families interested in applying for financial aid must complete a financial aid application by January 15th. All documentation must be submitted to FAST directly.
