Cambridge Montessori School

We partner with our diverse community, using authentic Montessori principles, to reveal each child’s innate love of learning and prepare our children to thrive in a complex world.

Pawan Sinha, Ph.D. Director, Project Prakash Professor of Vision and Computational Neuroscience Department of Brain and Cognitive Sciences MIT Cambridge, MA

As a professor at MIT, I have had an opportunity to see what sets apart the truly outstanding students from their peers. We have marveled at the masterful subtlety with which the CMS teachers have ignited our son's interest in domains as diverse as mathematics, geography and history. To get a thoughtful question about the big-bang from a six year old is unsettling at first, but ultimately a powerful testament to a wonderful schooling system that gets children thinking about the deep structure of the world they inhabit.

A Montessori Education

The philosophy views the child as someone eager for knowledge who will initiate learning in a supportive, stimulating, and thoughtfully prepared learning environment. The Montessori approach values the development of the whole child – the physical, social, emotional, and cognitive development.
Located in the heart of Cambridge, MA, CMS is a private school serving children eighteen months through grade 8 in four distinct programs: Toddler, Primary, Elementary and Middle School. CMS educates the whole child, applying the Montessori philosophy in a joyful learning environment.
